“My passion is to see the church become all that Jesus intended. I believe that each and every person has unique gifts and abilities that are vital to the health and growth of the whole community. Church is a place where we can develop friendships that last a lifetime. It is also a place where each individual can grow to their greatest potential in Christ. I love being a pastor because I see God doing wonderful things in and through people almost every day.”

I love your idea of the give away each week. Brilliant! You’re right – it flies in the face of “hoarding” for ourselves in these economically challenging times! Way to go New Day! Bless you and may you see amazing God sized results from your give aways!

I am wondering
what doctirne of the Christian faith do you follow, or denomination?

We are a non-denominational church, but we are not anti-denominational. We believe that every church that has Jesus Christ as Lord and the Bible as it’s foundation is genuine. Different denominations (i.e. Lutheran, Baptist, Methodist, etc.) all represent various emphasis upon truths that God has revealed throughout Church history. So we feel every church has something to offer. A pastor friend of mine says there is one church in Kalamazoo, with many “branch offices.”
But to help clarify what type of church we are this description may be helpful: We are non-denominational evangelical, charismatic Bible-based local church that believes the Bible to be the sole authoritative source for doctrine. I hope to add a page to our website that explains more about our doctrines soon.
Thanks,
Pastor Cameron

I too am trying to “de-code” your beliefs, doctrine, whatever you want to call it, from your entire website. I’ve only found “contemporary music”, “casual dress”, and your above “evangelical, charismatic, Bible-based”. I suppose that last hints, but only hints. All Christian churches would be naturally Bible-based to various (but considerable) degree. So I guess the best hint is that bit about “sole authoritative source for doctrine”. Still not very clear, but leaning quite conservative, to my untrained eye. To me, the Bible is deeply subtle with meaning, and requires understanding and very very careful study. So I wonder just how do YOU understand the Bible?

Besides that denominations “all represent various emphasis upon truths”, what is YOUR particular emphasis? I do note that, at least above, the emphasis is on the individual, not relationship with community (”health and growth of the whole community” looks like you’re talking about the congregation and not the wider world).

I guess there’s no way to know, except to visit.

Sorry if this is too blunt, but it’s five months later and I think you should get cracking on that website page “that explains more about our doctrines”.

Blessings on your future!
