What’s Happening–September 2, 2010

Exploring Membership Meeting
Sunday, September 12th is your next opportunity to learn how you can become a member of New Day, get to know Pastor Cameron, and get answers to any questions you might have.  The meeting will follow second service, and lunch is provided.  Children and other family members are welcome to join for lunch; childcare will be provided during the meeting.

Prayer for Prodigals
Do you have a sibling or child who was raised with Christian truths but is not apparently embracing God in their life?  Join us Saturday, September 25th at 10:30 AM to lift them up in prayer.   Sign up to join with us in prayer, or submit the name of a person you feel needs prayer.  Pick up a flyer at the Connection Counter for details.

Happy New Year Parents!
September 5 marks the beginning of a new ministry year for the Children and Youth of New Day.  Please help us to provide the best ministry possible by ensuring your children are in their proper class—check the “Today’s Details” section on the left side of the bulletin to confirm your child’s placement.  Also with the new ministry year comes the need to update each family’s information.  On September 5 and 12, there will be forms out in the Family Room for you to check and correct as needed.  Thank you!

Autumn Fest—Save the Date!!
Save the date for the New Day Family Autumn Fest! October 30th at 3 PM we will meet at Kurt and Lori Dillenbecks farm for a fabulous time enjoying food, games, and fellowship! More info and sign-ups coming next week!

Hot Enough For You?
The Kalamazoo Deacons Conference is in need of electric fans for their guests. Donations may be dropped off at 1010 N. Westnedge, Monday – Friday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.  Also, KDC is in need of back packs, trapper keepers, and school supplies for our Back 2 School event.

WorshipArts
is a group worship and ministry education program for students ages 11-18, and the fall semester starts September 11! Alternatives

Place donations in the box in the family room until August 1st to take advantage of this opportunity to bless our community!

Please Welcome Special Guests!
Matt & Nancy Botsford will be ministering to us on Sunday, July 11th! Pastor Cameron has known the Botsfords for years through Partners In Harvest and he believes that their radical testimony will be powerful and bring something new and different for us as a church!

Graham McKeague will be preaching the next two Sundays, July 18th and 25th.

Children’s Ministry Meeting on Sunday, July 11th!

What’s Happening–June 23, 2010

New Day SC comes to New Day MI!
Please welcome our beloved church plant team, Scott and Stephanie Jones and Dave and Amy Boersma!!! The Boersmas and Joneses left us in 2008/2009 to plant New Day Community Church in Summerville, SC, and will be joining us Sunday, June 27th at both services. Dave and Amy will be leading worship and Scott and Stephanie will be speaking.

Graduation Open House:
For Gwen Frentheway is Sunday, June 27th from 2-5 PM at New Day. Gwen and her family were part of our New Day family before moving to Baltimore in 2009. Please join us in blessing Gwen!

Communion Sunday!
Is Sunday, July 4th. Parents, please keep your children with you in worship; they will be dismissed to their classes following the celebration of Communion.

Special Guests!

Of the church, that is! Did you know that behind the building there is beautiful acreage and a nicely kept walking trail, complete with bench? We are inviting the church to take a stroll and prayer walk in the peace of God’s amazing creation!

Ohayou Gozaimasu Japan Team!!
A team from Hope International Fellowship in Izunokuni-shi, Japan is visiting this week and will be ministering to us today! They have spent the past week prayer walking our city, our colleges, and our state capital. Please welcome Dennis and Kaku Sager, their children Adrienne and Daniel, and Romi san and Masa san this morning and say “Konnichiwa!”

Japan Team Reverse Mission Trip! June 8th—15th
A team from Hope International Fellowship in Izunokuni-shi, Japan is coming to visit us THIS WEEK! Our prayers have been answered and God has provided financial means, host homes, and transportation for their visit. The only thing we still need is a van for the Wrights to borrow during Dennis’s stay June 8—July 7.   See the bulletin insert for events where you can meet and minister with the Japan team, including:
