We recieved this comment from a recent visitor–
Dear Pastor Cameron and the whole church:
We are a passersby. And when we are in town we stop by New Day to attend worship. It is always a great blessing. You stretch us…and are always warm and welcome. I wanted to drop you all a note about the last time we visited–which I think was a couple weeks ago. First off, last year when we were in town you sent off the Jones’ to South Carolina. Then, get this, the day we show up this year, you showed a video from the Jones’ and the church thanking you for your support and documenting the impact the ministry is having on people’s lives. Wow.
And during service we were able to witness the gift giving of a guitar. Wow, very cool.
After service wound down, I noticed a complete stranger struck up a conversation with my 15 year old son and made an effort to connect and go beyond the surface “how are you doing?”. That was pretty awesome. I approached two young people completely unknown to me and mentioned my younger son likes to skateboard and if there were any places around to skate or get gear. They overflowed with information. After sharing with my son all I learned, he asked me how I came to discover all this new information. I merely replied, “I found a coulpe guys that looked like skaters and went up to them and asked.” It is kind of a sad commentary that we are guarded with such initiatives. But New Day made it a “safe place” to venture out and talk to strangers. After all, who is a stranger if we are all in Christ? I hope that was a good object lesson for my son.
Anyway, pardon my ramblings but I felt impelled to share my thoughts and thank you for the blessing of being in community with you all.
Every Sunday of 2009 we are giving away a gift! This is for a variety of reasons which include:
These gifts are usually an annonymous donation from someone in the church to someone else in the church, and they have varied from small items, such as candles, canvases, or books, to large gifts, like this:
Here are ways you can participate:
Be prayerful and open to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Use this as an opportunity not only to bless others by giving, but also to hear the Holy Spirit leading us to meet specific needs in others lives. This has been a lot of fun! Let’s keep on giving!
Our very own Linda O’Keefe was honored earlier this week with an Excellence in Education award! To see her recieve it, watch the video below.

Starting Sunday (4/19/09), we will delve into this issue in a new series titled: How God Leads. I hope you can be here, and I encourage you to invite others as well.
I love being your pastor,
Cameron

This Sunday Pastor Cameron will be in South Carolina with our sister church, New Day SC, so Graham McKeague will preach, continuing the series “Looking at Jesus.” It will be great and you don’t want to miss it!
Next Sunday is Easter–the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection from the grave. This is a very special day as we celebrate christ’s victory over death.
We will have a Sunrise service at Mt. Home cemetary at 6:45 AM. Graham McKeague and Jerry Burch will lead this service.
Our regular Sunday morning service will also be special. We will begin with “break-FEST” from 9:45 AM to 10:15 AM, with pastries (fresh from the Yoder bakery–come on time so you don’t miss out!), juice and coffee for all in the family room area. Then Carrie Miller will open the service with a special song she has written for Easter. Children will then be dismissed for Children’s Church and Pastor Cameron will teach on “Jesus, My Resurrection.” After the teaching, we will celebrate Easter with worship! This will be a wonderful time to celebrate with one another, from regular members to first time guests!
