New Day has a blessed history with many amazing leaders connected to our family. This fantastic picture was taken in June 2010 when all of our pastors, sister church pastors and church plant pastors were gathered together for a wedding:
In the center front is Pastor Ken and Lisa Norberg. Pastor Ken founded New Day Community Church (Then Redemption Center, and later Redemption Christian Assembly [RCA]) in Spring 1981.
Behind him on the left is Pastor Cameron Wright and his wife, Kathie. They began attending in Fall of 1981. Pastor Cameron is the current pastor of New Day, MI, and was assistant pastor under Pastor Ken before he became senior pastor in 1999.
Next to them on the right is Pastor Dennis and Kaku Sager. Pastor Dennis attended RCA before marrying Kaku and starting our sister church, Hope International Fellowship, in Japan in 1993.
Behind them is Pastor Scott and Alicia Nelson. They pastor our sister church, New City Church, in Kalamazoo.
Behind Pastor Cameron and Kathie is Pastors Ron and Kim Cipcic. They were in leadership under Pastor Cameron at New Day until being sent out as a church plant to start Grand River Church in Grand Rapids, MI in June, 2003.
Next to them is Pastors Scott and Stephanie Jones. They served as assistant pastors at New Day until God sent them to plant New Day Community Church in Summerville, SC in 2008.
It is interesting to note that by the early ’90s, Ken, Cameron, Scott, Scott, Dennis, Ron and many of their now wives were all friends and attending RCA.
It has been an honor to see how God has used New Day to send out people to bless new communities not just across Michigan, or the U.S., but the whole world. We look forward to seeing Christ’s love continue to spread through these great leaders and each and every member of these churches!
“I do all this to spread the Good News, and in doing so I enjoy its blessings.” 1 Corinthians 9:23
“Finally, dear brothers and sisters, I ask you to pray for us. Pray first that the Lord’s message will spread rapidly and be honored wherever it goes, just as when it came to you.” 2 Thessalonians 3:1
This is going to be a great conference that we encourage all of the church to attend! It is October 4th-7th. This conference takes place in Toronto, Canada, so if you do not have a passport already, you are strongly encouraged to order one soon.
An excerpt from TACF’s site:
“We all know how difficult and tiring it can be to do the works of God without being full of His Holy Spirit. We have to learn how to live out of a place of being filled up daily by His love, presence and power. Please come and take some time out to be filled up by the powerful teachings, anointed worship and joyful fellowship of fellow ministers and leaders. We will have opportunities for prayer ministry, soaking and sharing. We are bringing back the ministry stations from last year, so come ready TO BE FILLED!
Speakers:
John and Carol Arnott
Che Ahn
Ras Robinson
Dan Slade

This sunday Matt & Nancy Botsford will minister here at New Day! Pastor Cameron has known the Botsfords for years through Partners In Harvest and he believes that their radical testimony will be powerful and bring something new and different for us as a church!
Please plan on attending this Sunday and come expecting God to do great things!!
This video gives a brief overview of his story:
Matt’s story has been featured on The 700 club as well as a host of other prominent Christian media and has been featured at Toronto numerous times. Matt was shot in the head and died, but God revived him. Matt still has some disabilities connected to the bullet that is still in his head. But the testimony of endurance and hope that they share is quite powerful. Through this and other means God has led them into a life of ministry with an emphasis on the love of the Father.
Happy Fathers Day!
Thank you to each one of our fantastic New Day dads—we love and appreciate you all so much!!
