Weekly Announcements–October 27, 2010

Is It Relative?
A new sermon series “Is It Relative? Living Morally in an Amoral World” begins Sunday, October 30th. Who do you believe? What is the truth? How do you find it? Where are you looking? Pastor Cameron addresses these important questions in a real, relevant way. The series will continue through November 13th.

A Japan Fund-Raiser Art Show
Will be held Sunday, October 30th during Intersection and after second service. Artists Katie Duke, Carrie Hays, and Will Hays will be displaying and selling their artwork, and proceeds will go towards their expenses for the upcoming Japan mission trip.

Communion Sunday—November 6th!
Every monthly communion Sunday we collect non-perishable food, clothing in good condition, unopened toiletry items, toys in like-new condition, and other donations that will be taken to local ministries for distribution. Also, don’t forget Daylight Savings begins November 6th—be sure to set your clocks back an hour so you’ll be here at the right time!

Family Fun Night at Bounceland!
Come support our MOPS fundraiser on Monday, November 7th from 5-7 pm.  Admission is $8 for kids and free for adults.  Our MOPS group receives 25% of admissions and concessions, so plan on purchasing an Erbelli’s pizza for dinner at Bounceland too! Bouceland is an indoor inflatable fun park, located at 6255 Technology Ave. off of 9th Street.  For more information visit www.bounceland.com.  You may arrive 15 minutes early to sign the liability waiver and don’t forget to wear socks!

Hey Ladies! Come and join us on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 6:30 pm at Oakwood Bistro in the Oakwood Plaza on Oakland Drive. Menus are available at the Connection Counter. This will be a time to get out, build relationships and have fun with the ladies. Space is limited; sign up today!

Spiritual Gifts Class
Interested in learing more about your spiritual gifts? Pastor Cameron and Mark Morris will be teaching a class expanding on this month’s teaching, where you can discover your gifts and learn how to use them. Mark your calendars for January 14th and 21st and plan to attend this valuable teaching!

Baptism November 6th
If you would like to be baptized, sign up and indicate which service you would prefer. A brochure explaining the meaning of Baptism can be found at the Connection Counter.

Pastor Cameron is continuing his sermon series “Filled”—a series on living the Spirit-filled life. The series will continue through October 30th. Be sure to see the Worship Photography display in the entryway by photographer Sarah Gerber that corresponds with this series.

Leaf Raking Outreach
New Day Community Church is partnering with Dwell to reach out to the Vine Neighborhood in Kalamazoo. The outreach will be held this Saturday, October 29th from 1-5 PM. Participants will meet at the Iglesia located in the Vine Neighborhood. We need LOTS of volunteers to rake leaves, but we also need a few volunteers to hang out at the Iglesia to pass out coffee, doughnuts, and cider. Sign up TODAY on Facebook!

Nick & Koryn Yarosz–October 16!
Come and see Nick Yarosz and meet his lovely bride, Koryn! Nick grew up at New Day and now attends our sister church, New Day South Carolina. They will be sharing for a few minutes at the end of each service and there will be a short meet/greet with them in the Family Room after 2nd service. Come and can get caught up on what God is doing in their lives!

A Baby Shower for Lacey Eckert
Will be held Saturday, October 22nd at 2:00 PM in the New Day Family Room. Lacey is registered at Babies R Us. Please join us for fun times and food and help us bless Lacey and Brian’s new little BOY!

Lost and Found
Items will be set up in the Family Room during Intersection and after 2nd service October 9th.  Items not claimed will be donated to local charities at the end of the day.

Geijutsu Open House
Carrie Hays is hosting an Open House Friday, October 14 · 6:00pm - 10:00pm at her home studio, 3841 W F Ave. Geijutsu is Japanese for art and the open house is for three artists—Carrie Hays, Will Hays, and Katie Duke—who feel called to participate in a missions trip to help with the rebuilding efforts in Japan. Artwork will be sold in an effort to raise funds for the trip and some of the artists will be practicing their crafts during the open house.

will hold a Treasure Sale on Friday, October 14 from 8 am  – 5 pm and Saturday, October 15 from 8 – 2 pm at Second CRC, 3015 Nichols Road.
