Weekly Announcements–February 23, 2011

Communion Sunday—March 6th!
Every monthly communion Sunday we collect non-perishable food, clothing in good condition, unopened toiletry items, toys in like-new condition, and other donations that will be taken to local ministries for distribution.

Baby Dedication
A baby dedication will be held on Sunday, March 13th. Sign up if you would like to have your child dedicated, and please indicate which service you would prefer.

Emotional Freedom Workshop
Come for a more hands on approach and get more in-depth in receiving freedom from the Shame-Fear-Control Cycle! 10 AM – 12 PM at New Day, Saturday March 19th.

Coming March 20—Pastor Mitko!
While Bulgaria was under a communist regime Pastor Mitko was arrested many times & persecuted for his faith. In 1989 he and his wife Albena founded an underground church. Their ministry is a part of Global Celebration under Georgian & Winnie Banov. They carry a rich revelatory anointing, opening hidden treasure from the Word and moving strongly in the prophetic for the motivation & edification of the Body of Christ. They are Sr. Pastors of the largest River Church in Bulgaria.

ELEVATE 2011—March 26th
Grace Christian Fellowship will once again be offering a day of free worship training from 1:00-4:30 pm followed by a community Concert of Worship at 7:00 pm.  More information can be found at http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=160954967286062 .

VIP Prayer Cards
To aid you in fulfilling “The Great Commission,” New Day has created a special VIP Prayer card which you can use to keep track of those for whom you are praying to accept Christ. These are available at the Connection Counter. If you have been using this resource since it was first introduced last September and have a testimony you would like to share about it please contact tori[at]newdaycommunity.org.

Alternatives Annual Auction
Mark your calendars for the 21st Annual Auction and Spaghetti Dinner, Friday, March 11 at Lighthouse Community Church. Doors open at 5:00 PM, Auction begins at 7:15. For more information, go to www.pregnancychoices.com/auction.

Ken and Lisa Norberg
are seeking a temporary home for their two 5-year-old Siberian forest cats. This breed typically doesn’t trigger allergies. In exchange for sheltering them, Lisa would do housecleaning. Ideally, the home would be a peaceful one, and the kitties would need to be separated from any other animals. The Norbergs can be reached at 323-9505 or kenslady[at]juno.com

Rides to Church Needed!
There is a need for transportation for three people in Portage, every other Sunday.  Please call Bill and Sue Padgham at 344-1993 for more info.

The Kalamazoo Deacons Conference
is in need of a volunteer receptionist on Mondays from 8:45 am – 1:00 pm and a volunteer with  to pick up furniture and appliance donations in KDC’s truck.

As a church, we value the creative gifts given to our members, and encourage the use of all of our talents in the worship of our Lord. The pictures in the entry area are an expression of the use of photography to creatively illustrate the current sermon series, “Fulfilling the Great Commission.” To find out more about the photographers, Graham and Jill McKeague, and about Worshiping with Photography look for the Artist Statement plaque near the pictures.

Life Group Sign-ups
are coming soon! The new semester of Life Groups begins next month, and we have many exciting groups for you to choose from! You will have a chance to find out about the groups and to meet the leaders on February 27th and March 6th. Life group membership is a great way to get connected, build relationships, grow in Christ, and just have fun!

The Heart & Soul of a Real Marriage
Is a 12 week seminar that offers practical resources and guidance for couples at any stage of relationship. It will be offered at Centerpoint Church February 25th through April 9th, and the cost is $95 per couple. For more information, pick up a flyer at the Connection Counter.

Developing A Strong Spirit
If you are interested in learning more about strengthening your Spirit, Pastor Cameron recommends listening to this great message by Bill Johnson of Bethel Church! This is a great follow-up to the Blessing Your Spirit Class we just hosted, but it also can stand on its  own if you didn’t make the class. Angel Food—Last Day to Order!
Angel Food orders will be taken during intersection and after second service. Orders for the February 26th distribution must be placed by February 20th. Please also note the new distribution time of 8:30-10:00 Saturday mornings. See Pat and Dave Musall for more info.

Emergency assistance funds are urgently needed, as they are having to turn away applicants facing utility shut-offs, evictions, and other hardships. If you can help, you may contribute using an offering envelope marked “Deacon’s Conference.”

Communion Sunday–February 6th!
We will worship and celebrate Communion as a family. Parents, please keep your children with you; they will be dismissed to their classrooms after worship.

Every monthly communion Sunday we collect non-perishable food, clothing in good condition, unopened toiletry items, toys in like-new condition, and other donations that will be taken to local ministries for distribution.

Exploring Membership
Come Sunday, February 13th to learn what this church is all about, get to know Pastor Cameron, and get answers to any questions you might have. If you’re interested in making a commitment, or just are curious to know more, plan to attend this informational meeting. The meeting will follow second service, and lunch and childcare are provided!

Life Group Leader’s Meeting
Great Life Groups need great leaders!! Do you have an idea for a Life Group you’d like to see happen? The next Life Group Leaders meeting will be Monday, February 7th at 6:30 PM. Come and see how this vital ministry works, and how God can use you!

New Day Camping Trip!!
Yes, it’s time to get your reservations for the annual New Day Camp-out! We will again be going to Van Buren State Park, on August 19-21. The cost will be $54.00 per space, and must be received by February 6th. Place your payment in a offering envelope marked “Camping.”

Women’s Retreat
Don’t miss the Refresh Women’s retreat! Please pick up your information packets in the Family Room, and sign up for your room if you wish. Full Payment is due February 6th!

Love & Respect Video Conference
Centerpoint Church of Kalamazoo will be hosting Dr. Emerson Eggerichs’ nationally renowned video conference “Love & Respect” on Friday, February 11th and Saturday, February 12th.  Eggerichs believes, based on Ephesians 5:33,  that love best motivates a woman and respect most powerfully motivates a man.
