Take the E100 Challenge!
The Essential 100 Challenge (the E100) is a new and exciting way to read through the Bible. The Challenge is based on carefully selected short Bible passages—50 from the Old Testament and 50 from the New Testament—that helps you get the big picture of the Bible without getting bogged down. Pick up a flyer at the Connection Counter for more information and a reading plan. Pastor Cameron also recommends http://www.youversion.com/reading-plans/the-essential-100-challenge, a site where you can read online and post messages to others who are reading along!

“And the star they had seen in the east guided them to Bethlehem. It went ahead of them and stopped over the place where the child was.  When they saw the star, they were filled with joy!  They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh “  Matthew 2:9-11

Message from Dan & Gwen Slade

Here is an update from Dan & Gwen Slade, the leaders of Partners In Harvest, our church association:

Psalm 31:15 : ” My times are in Your hands”

We are nearing the end of another year and and just like many others, we are remembering the faithfulness of God and reviewing what has happened with PIH in 2010.

We are all grateful for the recovery that Fred Wright has had from his stroke last December. In light of some of the changes this has brought to their lives, Fred and Sharon have relocated, at least temporarily, to California and then probably eventually to Abbotsford, BC. Presently for this Christmas season, they are in the Toronto area with their daughter Hanna and son-in-law awaiting their second grandchild.

It is encouraging to see the growth within PIH. This year we have had 21 churches and ministries join as part of the PIH family. Four of those churches are in the Ukraine. It is always exciting to see the values of the River expanding around the world.

With IHOP in Kansas City having an outpouring of new wine in November of 2009 we have come into a closer relationship with the prayer movement around the world. Now that John Arnott has been down in IHOP and we have had Mike Bickle and Wes Hall in Toronto encouraging us in the call to be a house of prayer. Isaiah 56:7 is one of the rhema words to the body of Christ right now: “I will make you joyful in My house of prayer”. We are seeing the uniting of the River and the Prayer movement in our day!!!!

Another emphasis the Lord is leading us into is our relationship with a ministry called La Red. Many of you heard the presentations at our conferences and we hope you will consider implementing this outreach program into your ministries. John Arnott has felt led of the Lord that this could be an effective tool for our E value, (Expansion of the Kingdom with signs and wonders). It is a way to get the truths of the Kingdom of God into our society in a wise non-threatening way. If you have not yet considered implementing this program into your ministry we would ask you to take another look at www.lared.org and see if it could be a good fit for you.

We have had great conferences in Toronto, Hemel Hempstead and around the world. Some of the memorable words to us were:

  • Che Ahn speaking on financial generosity and the Kingdom.
  • Ras Robinson on how the spirit of revelation can open up nations for us as it did for Peter when Jesus gave him keys.
  • Rolland Baker sharing in England about the need for renewal leaders to have sound doctrine and a theological foundation.
  • Heidi’s stories of perseverance and courage always inspire us.

Besides being a local church network, PIH has the God-given character of being an organic missions movement. It seems when we jump in the River there is an impartation of DNA for the nations. In November, 6 PIH leaders, with John Arnott, had the privilege of ministering in Turkey, one of the more lost nations of the world. Out of a population of 70 million there are only about 5000 believers from a Muslim background. Besides Turkish believers there were Iranian leaders who are reaching out to the many Iranians that come to Turkey for either holidays or refugee purposes. We see this as one of the open doors that we need to walk through in missions and hope to have two ILSOM in Turkey in November of 2011, one in Turkish, and one in Farsi. We are becoming aware of the revival in Iran and are asking the Lord to show us our part in this unexpected awakening.

We have had a movement in Philippines join us this year which is led by Barb Arney, a member of Jim Curtis’s church in Tulsa, OKlahoma. Other nations such as Bangladesh, Egypt, India, many African nations, China, Chile, Russia, Ukraine, Latvia and others are being reached through your efforts. (Forgive me if I left your nation out).

I , on behalf of Gwen, myself and John and Carol, want to thank all the regional and national coordinators for their sacrificial efforts in travel, pastoral input, and keeping the values of PIH in the forefront. You are highly valued and may the Lord bless all you’re doing for His kingdom.

So have a blessed new year and we look forward to 2011 together with you.

Grace and Peace,
Dan and Gwen Slade

Special note from John and Carol Arnott:

We send special Christmas greetings to each one of you and are really looking forward to seeing you again next year at one of the many upcoming PIH regional events. We are believing for a greater outpouring and for harvest to begin. The La Red emphasis is helping us get out into our communities, and we are believing that a greater anointing for signs and wonders will enable us all to begin to see significant impact.

Weekly Announcements–December 17th, 2010

Merry Christmas!!!

“ “And this will be a sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger,” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”
So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger.”
Luke 2: 12-16

At New Day we value family & friends, so we intentionally do not have special services on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or New Years.  We encourage you to spend time with your friends and family and/or attend one of the many local churches who do offer special services during this holiday time.

We also value serving the needy in our area so beginning in January, every monthly communion Sunday we will collect non-perishable food, clothing in good condition, unopened toiletry items, toys in like-new condition, and other donations that will be taken to local ministries for distribution.
