Bronco Bash!
New Day will have a spot at WMU’s Bronco Bash this year and we need you! If you attend New Day, can smile, and hand out information, then you are qualified to help represent your church! Hospice Care Volunteers
Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan is seeking volunteers to provide companionship and respite care to individuals and families coping with terminal illness, with dying and with loss. Training begins September 6th and runs through September 24th and consists of interactive group sessions and independent home study. New Member of Our Family
Congratulations to Chris and Julie Keeler! Their son Caleb Christopher Keeler arrived at 8:18 pm Tuesday, weighing in at 7 lbs, 15 oz and was 20 inches long.
Jones Send Off Sunday
On August 24th, New Day will take the whole service to bid farewell to the Jones family. An offering will be taken to sow into their new ministry. After the service will be a potluck. Please bring a main dish AND either a dessert or side dish to honor, celebrate, and thank Scott and Stephanie, as they prepare to launch their church plant. Youth Nation—6:00-7:15 PM
Open to all 7th through 12th graders, and meets at New Day.
Sunday we will have special guest speakers Scott & Stephanie Jones sharing on ‘Hearing the Voice of God.’ Be sure to take advantage of the Jones’ final time ministering to New Day youth! We will not be meeting the next two weeks, 8/24 & 8/31. Don’t miss our 2008-2009 kick-off on Sunday, September 7th.
Life Group News
New Life Groups will begin in September and now is the time to prepare. If you will lead a life group this fall or if you are interested, there will be a mandatory meeting Sunday after church which will include lunch.
Life Group Leader Meeting
Life Groups are the small group ministry of New Day. A life group can be anything from a group that meets regularly to play games (a fellowship group) or to study the Bible or a Christian book (a discipleship group) or to minister to a need in our church or community (an outreach group).
If you are interested in finding out more about leading a life group please attend the meeting after church this Sunday (8/17/08). Lunch is provided so let us know in advance (call or e-mail the church) ASAP, so we have enough food for all.
Attending the meeting is required in order to lead a group, but just coming to the meeting doesn’t mean you are obligated to lead a group — you can come just to find out what is involved and then decide if you want to lead a group!
